Terms of service

Last updated 2 September 2026

These are the terms between Matchups (“we”, “us”) and a club, coaching business or coach (“you”) using the planner at matchups.training. By setting up an account you agree to them on behalf of your club.

What Matchups is

A planner for cricket training: it builds each session’s plan from the players and nets you give it, texts players their times, takes their replies, and keeps attendance and bowling loads. It is a tool for coaches; the coaches on the night stay in charge of the session and of every decision about a player’s welfare.

Your account

  • One account per club. The person who sets it up is the club’s administrator and can add other coaches.
  • Keep passwords private. You are responsible for what is done from your coaches’ logins.
  • Enter only players your club trains, with their agreement to receive training texts, and a parent or guardian’s for juniors.
  • Use the texting for training and club business only. No marketing, nothing unlawful, nothing a player would object to.

Your data is yours

Everything you enter stays your club’s. You can export your player list at any time, and on request we will hand over the rest of your data in a plain format. We use it only to run the service for you, as the privacy policy says. When you leave, we keep your data for ninety days in case you come back, then delete it.

Price

The first six months are free with every feature, whatever kind of account you have. After that Matchups is A$179 a month (Club), A$199 (Plus) or A$249 (Pro) for a club or school, unless we have agreed something else with you in writing; A$49 a month or A$499 a year for a solo coach; A$99 a month or A$999 a year for a coaching business; and A$149 a month or A$1490 a year for an academy. Every plan can also be paid yearly at a lower price. Payment is by card through Stripe, taken at the start of each month or year; you can change or cancel the plan from Billing in the app at any time, and a cancelled plan runs to the end of the period already paid for. Prices include GST where it applies. We will give at least thirty days’ notice of any price change, and you can stop at any time before it takes effect. Arrangements made in writing during the early-access period stand until we say otherwise in writing, with thirty days’ notice.

Coaching bookings and payments

A coach or coaching business using Matchups takes bookings from its own clients. The session, its price and any refund are a matter between the coach and the client; Matchups is the booking tool, not a party to the session. Card payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe’s terms and paid to the coach’s own Stripe account; where Matchups keeps a percentage of a card payment, the coach sees that percentage in their settings before switching cards on. Cash and bank transfers are between the coach and the client. A coach who cancels a booking paid by card can refund it from the booking; other refunds are the coach’s to make.

Stopping

You can stop at any time from Billing in the app or by email; you will not be charged again after the period already paid for. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that texts players against their wishes, or that does not pay, after telling you and giving you a fair chance to fix it.

Junior limits and player welfare

The app applies published junior bowling guidelines from a player’s date of birth and flags plans that go over. It is a help, not a substitute for a coach’s judgement or for your association’s rules, and it only knows the balls it has been told about. Check the plan before it goes out, and check on your bowlers on the night.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep Matchups up all the time and to fix problems quickly, but we do not promise it will never be down or never have a bug. We back the database up every night. We improve the app continuously and may change how features work; we will not remove a feature you rely on without notice.

Texting

Texts are delivered through a messaging provider and depend on the mobile networks; a text can be delayed or fail, and the app shows you when one fails so you can follow up. You are responsible for the content of any message you write and send through the app.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Beyond those, our liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for loss of profit or for indirect loss. We are not responsible for decisions coaches make on the night, or for injuries at training.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia, and disputes go to its courts.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the top changes and clubs are told by email before the change takes effect.
